Writing an Ethical Will
by Rabbi Lynnda Targan

In the course of prudent estate planning, many of us enlist the guidance and expertise of competent professionals to create a legal document, which will provide for heirs after we die. Embodied in this "will" are instructions about dispersing property, and dividing our material possessions. It delineates who gets the sterling silver place-settings. Which daughter will inherit Grandma's antique cameo? How will the contents of the house be handled? All are necessary questions addressed in wills, but do we also include declarations about our truly greatest assets, which are our values and beliefs that we leave behind as our legacy? Rabbi Targan will guide you in the process of determining what “ethics” and values you want to live after you do.
